CONIGLIOVIOLA

ConiglioViola is an art duo: Brice Coniglio and Andrea Raviola. From video art to multimedia theater, electronic music to performance, net.art to photography, there is no field of contemporary creativity that Coniglioviola, “a digital-era Renaissance workshop,” has left unexplored or not aroused through irony, slowly but surely making its way as a true and real brand.
Known for its spectacular works like Attacco Pirata alla Biennale di Venezia in 2007, this group is engaged in a radical and transversal investigation on the boundaries between art genres and popular culture, intended as a place where shared cultural myths are created.
The multi-language and transmedia are the result of a reflection on the digital medium conceived as a meta-language, from which Coniglioviola is able to elaborate a project in all artistic forms.
In 2009, the PAC Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea in Milan dedicated to Coniglioviola – the youngest artists to have held a solo show there – a survey exhibition titled Sono un pirata/Sono un signore. It was visited by 10,000 people in 10 days.
That same year they debuted in theater with the project “Concerto senza titolo,” starring Antonella Ruggiero.
In 2011, they took part in the Venice Biennale, among the events tied to the national pavilions, with their Pirate Camp, The stateless Pavillion. From 2012 to 2014 they created an experimental program for the viadellafucina artist in residence, in the Porta Palazzo district in Turin, with the support of the Compagnia di San Paolo.
In March 2015, the album Recuperate Le Vostre Radici Quadrate was released, along with the new video “Non domina sum,” which gathers the music tracks of one of the duo’s first and most famous works.
